  1. I like the mission cardigan, but otherwise...blah

  2. yeah this is one of those where it's seems outdated the moment it's published.

  3. I like the cats eye tam but other than that, it is ok.

  4. I never expect to like much in the Summer issues, and I'm never disappointed.

  5. I like the Hourglass Lace Socks and the Bistro Lace Stole, but the rest, meh.

  6. The hoodie is about the only thing I'd be remotely interested in, but I never get much out of Spring/Summer issues anyway. Warm weather knitting kind of bores me.

  7. When most of the featured garments make the MODEL look like she has huge hips or is otherwise disproportionately shaped, I don't hold out much hope. And yikes, the Bistro Lace Stole looks like granny's table runner. Here's hoping at least the articles will be good...

  8. The swirl skirt is kinda cool, but otherwise, maybe the hoodie and that's it. I, too, tend not to expect much from the summer issues...

  9. why is everything so boxy in this issue?

  10. Dockside has potential (but not sure about the back- might be meh), but otherwise I feel like a lot of it is just too boxy. If you are going to do boxy, at least do hipster boxy (tshirt style in lightweight yarn)

  11. There are some interesting details on some, and there are a couple I kind of like (Mission cardi and Nantucket vest)...but it seems like the styling is off and the location is uninspired.

  12. bleh.
I like the skirt, but a) I would never knit a skirt, and b) I would just get the similar skirt pattern from knitty.

The patterns are boxy, and the colors just seem sort of blah, and not very fun, fresh, or summery. It's boring.

  13. I'm not enthused either. (And I still get aggravated at how this magazine is organized, but that is a bonus gripe....)

  14. I'm with those who are usually meh on summer knits. Plus I can't knit with cotton... plus it gets HOT here, anything I could knit (if i could use cotton) would be too dang hot.

  15. I keep renewing my subscription.. I'm not entirely sure why.

  16. This has to be their worst styling ever; I can't even tell whether I like any of the garments. Glad I let my sub go.

  17. I love summer knitting (which is good, because it's hot where I live). I rarely buy knitting magazines, in part because most of my knitting is in fingering to sport-weight yarns and most knitting patterns are not. That being said, I do like a lot of the patterns in this issue, especially the swirl skirt, torch lily tee, cumulus tee, and amelia hoodie.

  18. Torch Lily Tee has an interesting bottom.
Banstead Pullover look cute and I could knit the SMALLEST size, there is a boost to my ego
Dockside Cardigan would like to see the FRONT of this sweater...hello!
    Cumulus Tee like a lot
    Amelia Hoodie too cute!

  19. Good thing I quit subscribing.

  20. I can't say the offerings make me want get started on one of them right away. Cumulus is rather nice, but probably not for me, and I like Baby Elephant Vest, but probably as a child's cardigan instead.

  21. I agree with Jennifer - I never thought their styling could get any worse but this is! Let's see - how can we make this sweater look bad? - I know, put a really full skirt with a whole bunch of gathers on her. And how can we make this Swirl skirt look worse? - put it on a model whose hips are two sizes bigger.

  22. Amelia hoodie is cute but not sure if the back pleat would accentuate my already ample butt.

  23. I like the model's short haircut.

  24. I think it is more a problem with the choice of the short-necked, short-waisted model (the girl with the short dark hair). She is wearing all small sizes, but the sweaters look boxier than they might otherwise.

  25. Not at all....I am thinking of not renewing.

  26. Bummer! I am over Interweave and it makes me sad because it was my very favorite. Oh, well:(

  27. This preview makes me glad that I'm letting my subscription lapse--as others have said. I don't see anything here that I would want to make.

  28. @Anonymous - I had the same reaction at first - then I thought - WAIT a minute - they are using some models who are NOT size 0 here. I know we aren't used to seeing that, and in this case I don't think it's the garments that are making a size 0 model look wider - I think she really IS wider, and that is a good thing.

  29. ~meh~

And while we're on the subject (?), what is it with hoodies obviously designed to be worn inside? I mean, I can understand making a cardigan or jacket (or buying a sweatshirt) with a hood ***if it's intended to be worn for warmth or water/windproofing while outside!!!!*** But, guys, I don't keep my house at 40 degrees, and it hasn't rained in my living room in ... well, it's never rained in my living room.

    Just a random Wednesday rant...

  30. I thought about not renewing, but in the end I decided to go ahead and renew. After seeing this preview all I can hope for is that the articles will be worthwhile.

  31. Ehh. Not one thing I like.

  32. Ghastly. I would like my money back. And this was my last issue of my subscription. I think now I'll let it lapse. Too bad they don't seem to track or care what we think.
