Rose-Kim Knits

February 28, 2018

I have been feeling an intense fiber stashbusting urge lately. Today I carded several tiny bits together into a pale green cloud for spinning. #spin15aday #spin15aday2018 #rosekimknits

Yesterday I got a spinning idea I had to do that instant. I spun up some fuchsia Romney that was literally the first fiber I ever bought online (which lead to me not ordering fiber online again). I carded it a week ago and then I spun it wooolen to make it as soft and puffy as I could. Then I plied it with since Cotswold lamb singles that I dyed, combed and spun years ago. This photo doesn't show the true colors and is before washing. It feels good to use up old stuff! #rosekimknits #spin15aday #spin15aday2018 #spin15aday2018challenge

I am DISGUSTINGLY pleased with myself over my hand-dyed, hand-woven Color Blended Scarf from my class at Madrona. #rosekimknits

Started a Baltic Summer by @strickmich at Madrona. The yarn is Socks That Rock that I dyed last summer at the @bluemoonfiberarts Dye Day. #rosekimknits

Dyeing is magic. Started with an unattractive red and ended with shades of maroon-purple-black. 🖤💜🖤 #rosekimknits

Here is my finished skein of BFL/Alpaca (I dyed the roving last month after it sat ignored in my stash for over a decade). It came out much brighter than I expected. Or the sun finally came out? #spin15aday #spin15aday2018 #spin15aday2018challenge #rosekimknits

Used my #spin15aday time today to pky this little skein. It's 3-ply. Two plies are mystery samples from Abstract Fiber and one is a bit of leftover @abundantearthfiber Alpaca/Targhee. It's about 70 yards of DK-weight. #spin15aday2018 #spin15aday2018challenge #clearthebobbins #rosekimknits
