- Younger son order Buttermilk Pancakes for brunch. On the check it was abbreviated as BUTT CAKES. I laughed for about five minutes.
- Older son was picking fruit out at the grocery store. He said he liked under-ripe nectarines because, "they're hard and chewy." Without thinking about it I responded, "That's what she said!" Then I laughed for about five minutes.
Can I chalk these up to fatigue?

I laughed for about fives minutes at this blog entry. I'd be a horrible mother considering all that comes out of my mouth. Chalk it up to fatigue and a kooky sense of humour.
ANd having boys...which I do too.lol.
I'll be laughing at "butt cakes" for DAYS! And your riposte to the nectarine comment totally deserves a rimshot. No way is that bad mothering!

Yep - it's having boys. They ALWAYS go there.
It's not a parenting malfunction, but I had to suppress a giggle every time we got on the tube in London and the cultured British voice said "this is a Picadilly Line service to Cockfosters." It was the jet-lag, totally...
I went out to dinner with some coworkers many, many years ago and one of them ordered a diet coke...which the waitress wrote on the check abbreviated "di ck".
We never let coworker live it down, either.
Hilarious! Absolutely not bad mothering. Just think of the wonderful sense of humor you are helping them develop.
Well, don't tell my daughters, but I've been laughing about BUTT CAKES all weekend!
