You are not alone. I have done this before (swatch gauge on size 7, sweater on size 6 needles) and chose to dismantle the sweater and knit the whole thing all over again. You may feel differently. . . Gretchen
So, what are you going to do? Can you block it to within an inch of its life and hope for the best? Has it become an early Christmas gift for someone (at least you'll feel like you are ahead of the game for the holidays)? Do tell what the final outcome was. And sorry that you had to go through that rotten sinking feeling upon discovery of the error.
