Thursdays are for What the Hell is This?

This brings new meaning to "crazypants."

But it also reminds me of Arty Smarty-Pants.

Ok, I'm ordering a delivery of Zoloft laced deep dish pizza for those girls asap.

That last one, (was that the designer's de rigeur "bridal gown"?),
reminds me of Han Solo's carbonite prison.

They are pant dickies! Or, Lee Press On Pants!

Oy.

All I could think of is how wide those pants would have to be to achieve that look on me. I wouldn't be able to get through doorways. It would be like wearing a hoop skirt.

I think I'd look sullen too if someone dressed me like that.

Oh. My. Goodness. I sympathize with the ones with their hair over their faces. I did notice that the applause came only reluctantly at the end, but not during.

Am I the only one who developed a deep and troubling fascination with the lucite cervical collars worn by the happy models frolicking down the runway around :52?

Words fail me. My fav is the upside down lucite Elizabethan collar.

A: "Betty, what are you wearing to the formal gala at the art gallery?"
B: "I was thinking of wearing my floor length navy rectangle."
A: "Oh, that would be smashing. Simply smashing!"
B: "What are you wearing, Althea?"
A: "Well, I could either wear my shiny black vinyl shrink-wrap square, or my matte white shrink-wrap square. What do you think?"
B: "I would go with the white, definitely. Everyone is wearing black squares these days."

Also, WTF is with those clear acrylic neck restraint devices that you wear *over* your hair??

I wanted to see the back of those pants, skirts, and dresses. Is there a back to them? Do you have to take a shop vac and suck out the air after you get into that last dress? I did love the little clear dribble guard-for those embarrassing moments when you can't control your saliva? And those models looked old. Just goes to show, if you make those faces they will stick.

Kind of reminds me of that Carol Burnett sketch with the curtain dress...

ohmygod. am i the only person who wanted to give that poor last model a hug? (and a sandwich, but that's a whole other thing. ahem.)

i am forced to ask, "why do designers hate models so much??" it's bad enough to hate women so much you'd design theoretically wearable fabric boxes and call them "fashion", but to make your models wear the clear collar thingies and style their hair in their faces like that? truly some pathological hatred of models there.

Poor models. They look so sad. Like someone stole their pants.

Do those girls make anybody else but me want to grab scissors and do something to their hair?? I can hear my sixth grade teacher still..."get that hair out of your faces, girls!".

Late to the party but omgosh~~ I hope they paid those girls a LOT to be seen in those. I cannot help but feel it is the ultimate in misogynism... hair covering faces and big rectangles to block out any shape. If that were not enough the arms seem molded into place... a full body corset?
