Interweave Knits Preview

It's up. What do we think? I see a few interesting pieces but overall I'm not too jazzed. But isn't that always the way with a spring issue?

It's not for me... I thought I liked the pink cabely sweater - till I looked properly at the sleeves, and they are oh so bulky and lumpy....

I have really wanted to like Eunny's IK direction but BLECH! There hasn't been one pattern I'd consider knitting in at least the last 5 issues. I'll tell you what, IK would be wise to pay closer attention to all of the successful indie designers who're self-publishing more relevant and popular patterns. I dunno, maybe Ravelry's easy pattern accessibility has left me expecting more from IK.

*yawn*

Boringks. Even for a spring issue.

Spring issues don't really do much for me either, though IK in the past has done some winners. This has a couple of acceptable items, plus some interesting ideas that I'd adapt heavily, but nothing more. Surprisingly, both the designs and the photostyling have become rather dull in the Eunny Jang era - not what I would have expected at all.

Yeah...I'm underwhelmed. Like the first commenter, Tatiana's Sweater looked interesting to me until I opened the bigger photos and saw all that bulk in the arms and especially right around the sleeve caps and shoulders. That V-Yoke Cardigan by Amy Christoffers is nice but I don't think I would actually knit it. I'm still deciding if I like that Leaf and Picot Cardigan or not. The Curvy Squares Tee is for when you want to look at least 15 lbs. heavier than you actually are. And the Ruched Yoke Tee looks like the Tea Leaves Cardigan, only...a tee.

Overall verdict: meh at best.
