A blog about my life, knitting, and other stuff.

Thursdays are for What the Hell is This?

I have an announcement. Kristin H is my new BFF. She sent me an email with a link to this last week.

Where do I start?

  1. It's a knitted bikini.
  2. It's covered in Swarovski crystals.
  3. It has a bustle.
  4. Made of yarn.
  5. The model is wearing high heeled cowboy boots.
  6. There's...whatever the giant thing in the middle is.*
  7. It's for sale for $350.

If you need me I'll be penning a love letter to Kristin.

*The creator notes "The circular centerpiece is a tangle of treasures that keeps eyes and mind engaged for hours on end." I'll say.

There's also some camel toe in the first pic.

Is it meant to be some kind of art piece? If so, it's not working.

and her hairdo sort of echoes the bustle. It's perfect.

Please ridicule the 'Runway Knits' article from the Fall 10 IK. If I want to see photos of ridiculous runway knits I'll subscribe to VK, thank you.

That "giant thing" makes me think disemboweled dream catcher -- not good.

Nothing like making the most of a bad situation. Clearly, the creator had a customer who did not have a grasp of French pronunciation. What she heard was Tress Chick and that's what she did.

I'm trying to imagine where you would wear such a thing...

Not at the beach (imagine the bustle full of sand).

Not in public...

It's a summer outfit for Bjork! Remember the swan dress at the Oscars? This is the duck version. Yeesh.

verification word: deudall= "dude, I'm all covered with yarn and crystals"

Someone spent precious knitting/creating time on this? Call me bourgeois, but gee whiz! The thing in the center looks like an embellished plumbing-person from Vesicare ads.

I agree with Vicki, the center thing looks like a dream catcher. However, instead of catching dreams it causes nightmares.

The good think about knitting, it can always be frogged, but there isn't enough yarn to be worth $350 to frog it.

A must have outfit for your next trip to Carnival in Rio or a lucha libre match in Mexico.

Wow, a handknit Vegas showgirl costume-- for one of the older and shabbier casinos.

How did you miss the stretch marks on her saggy boobies? And the farmer tan?

Oh, and the "centerpiece" and bustle are belted on with those clips that you use to hook your dog to his run.

The link reveals that, unfortunately, only the one-piece with braid connecting the top and bottom is available, but thankfully, it is IN STOCK!

I think it is an exuberant sporran.

The bustle one looks like Big Bird.
