I can really honestly only see myself knitting/wearing the "Shadow Tuque." Strobilus has potential, but I just don't see me wearing it. I don't like the cover "coat" at all; it's wearing the model instead of the other way round. I think I'd like the Pembroke Wrap if it was a worsted or DK weight. In Bulky it just looks like she put an afghan round her neck! The lace on the Dahlia Cardigan is pretty, but the shape of the front is not very flattering. On the whole, it's similar to a lot of the magazines recently, just not a lot of really wearable knits. Nothing really would make me buy it except I already have the subscription. I'm really contemplating not renewing when it runs out.

I like the Rio Caplette and the shortsleeved top but that's about it. Not worth buying in my opinion.

Oh dear. I'm rather happy my subscription just expired.

I like the honeycombe jacket and the dahlia. Nothing else! I'm really over these knitting mags these days. Do they not realize how unflattering they are to a women's body.

I liked the Rio Capelette too but I wouldn't buy the magazine just for that. Pretty uninspiring.

They do seem to have lost their mojo, don't they?

Big Ass Knits followed by mildly interesting followed by COOL HAT! followed by nice knits that I couldn't pay attention to because the models were playing FOOTBALL in them (wtf) followed by a trip to yuck town.

I know the designers worked hard and are proud of their work--god knows I can't do it...but. BLECH.
This kind of knitting...turns me off of knitting.

STILL tired of the bland and uninspired color palette.

And for crying out LOUD get the styling and photography together already!

I'm still baffled by the styling. Even in photos with soft light, Twist does a great job of making the knits look exciting. IK just seems to be an expert in making the colors washed out. There are some nice knits here but the magazine doesn't do anything to make them shout, "knit me!"

Also, Malabrigo Lace for stockings??? They'd be comfy but I can't see them lasting longer than the time it took to knit them.

Honeycomb Jacket Jo Sharp Silkroad DK Tweed

Why knit something in a yarn that is no longer distributed in the USA?

overall, I am going with independent designers, twist, knitty, etc. Much better selection and styling

While this issue is another failure in my opinion (a sleeveless pullover for the fall issue and another inexplicable man's cardigan by Eunny Jang) I've noticed that IK's cover photographs have improved. The covers of issue and Winter 2010 had a Jared Flood vibe to them.

Strobilus is gorgeous, but I have yet to figure out when exactly I'm supposed to wear a sleeveless cashmere top. There is no season when that's appropriate.

I'm sooo glad I didn't renew my subscription. It's sad to see what was once a great magazine so diminished.

It sucks

I really liked the Kelmscott throw although I'd never tackle it. And there were a couple of sweaters that I could see modifying. (I generally modify). So not too bad.

I didn't even see any technique articles that I found interesting. I'm pretty disappointed with this issue.

At least the snowflakes in the Snowflake Sweater are anatomically correct (ie, six-sided). I'm also glad they decided against the slump-shouldered model from Summer. Her posture was NOT an asset to the garments.

Otherwise ... extreme meh. I like to support the magazine, but only if I'll actually use it.

I like the Dahlia cardi and the strobilus but enough to buy the mag? Maybe, maybe not. I love the kelmscot throw but I do not see a project that big in my future anytime soon.

Meh. Nothing I want to knit. I'm glad I let my subscription lapse. The new Twist, now...is a completely different story.
